COVINET: Multi-omics analysis of SARS-CoV-2 and SARS-CoV

SARS-Coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV‑2) caused COVID‑19 pandemic outbreak that started in 2020 and still continues. The sudden emergence of this virus have caught all of us without efficient therapies for limiting virus spread and reducing disease symptoms.

The mission of COVINET project is to provide the scientific community with fundamental knowledge on SARS-CoV‑2 & SARS-CoV and bolster the development of antiviral therapies. Using cutting-edge high-throughput omics technologies we look at the coronavirus infection from multiple angles:

  • Which human host proteins are targeted by viral proteins?
  • How does gene and protein expression change upon infection?
  • How the infection affects signalling within human cells?

We believe that this comprehensive profile of coronavirus infection at the molecular level will allow the scientists to identify hotspots for targeted and effecient treatments against SARS-CoV‑2.
